2 Corinthians 5:4

Berean Standard Bible (BSB)

So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life.

World English Bible (WEB)

For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

Strong's King James

For{G2532}{G1063} we that are{G5607}{(G5752)} in{G1722} this tabernacle{G4636} do groan{G4727}{(G5719)}, being burdened{G916}{(G5746)}: not{G3756} for that{G1894} we would{G2309}{(G5719)} be unclothed{G1562}{(G5670)}, but{G235} clothed upon{G1902}{(G5670)}, that{G2443} mortality{G2349} might be swallowed up{G2666}{(G5686)} of{G5259} life{G2222}.

The F.O.G *

(4) Because while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened upon, which we don't want to be stripped but rather clothed, so that mortality will be swallowed up by the zoe-life.

The F.O.G Message *

[4] While we live in these temporary bodies, we sigh under their burden, not because we want to die and have no body, but because we want to fully step into our eternal bodies. We long for mortality to be swallowed up by eternal life.

Young's Literal Translation

for we also who are in the tabernacle do groan, being burdened, seeing we wish not to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of the life.
