2 Corinthians 1:17

Berean Standard Bible (BSB)

When I planned this, did I do it carelessly? Or do I make my plans by human standards, so as to say “Yes, yes” when I really mean “No, no”?

World English Bible (WEB)

When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

Strong's King James

When I{G1011} therefore{G3767} was{G1011} thus{G5124} minded{G1011}{(G5740)}, did I use{G3385}{G686}{G5530}{(G5662)} lightness{G1644}? or{G2228} the things that{G3739} I purpose{G1011}{(G5736)}, do I purpose{G1011}{(G5736)} according{G2596} to the flesh{G4561}, that{G2443} with{G3844} me{G1698} there should be{G5600}{(G5753)} yea{G3483} yea{G3483}, and{G2532} nay{G3756} nay{G3756}?

The F.O.G *

(17) So then when I wanted this, I didn't waver or whatever I decided, I decided according to the flesh, did I? So that becoming of me its, "Yes, yes," and "No, no."

Young's Literal Translation

This, therefore, counselling, did I then use the lightness; or the things that I counsel, according to the flesh do I counsel, that it may be with me Yes, yes, and No, no?
